Hi! My name is Kendra Thompson. I am the founder and owner of KThompsonStudio. I assumed you clicked on this page to learn a little more about me and my photography business, so here we go!

 

I have always been a creative individual, I loved taking photos, writing in a journal, playing musical instruments, drawing, editing, you name it. In highschool I took photography and yearbook which ended up being my favourite classes. It's also where I began to use Adobe.

I studied Advertising and Marketing Communications Management at Algonquin College. In my second year, I was sales manager of the student magazine and in my third year I was required to do an internship and landed one at Carleton University, in their athletics marketing department where I did a mix of videography work and social media work. I was later hired back on a contract job.

During this pandemic is when I started KThompsonStudio. My passion for photography never went away and I am so excited to have started this business and turning this passion into something bigger. 

​

Since 2021, I have worked as a social media specialist for Canadian Geographic. My main job was to run all their social media channels which included creating, sourcing and scheduling content, attending events (reporting live), collecting analytics, worked on multiple marketing campaigns, edited videos and more.
